SUMMARY:Bus Trip to the Adirondacks - A TTOB Event
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an exciting day in the Adirondacks filled with fun\, adventure and history. This trip includes visits to the Adirondack Experience in Blue Mountain Lake and the of village of North Creek. North Creek is a charming village with shops and cafes. The highlight is the mosaic project which needs to be viewed to be believed. The Depot Museum features the railroad station where Theodore Roosevelt boarded a train bound for Buffalo to be inaugurated president of the United States following the assassination of President William McKinley. We will learn the story of Roosevelt’s trip through the mountains following this tragic event\, but much more on a tour through the history\, fauna and flora of the region to our north. \nTo register\, email Rhona at busplus1@gmail.com with the following information—name\, email address\, number of people in your group (age of any children) and FOL membership (or not). Names of participants. DESCRIPTION:Join us for stories of the Adirondacks with Gem Radio Theater as we kick off our 2026 Two Towns One Book (TTOB) events featuring themes found in our book of the year – The God of the Woods by Liz Moore.  Gem Radio Theatre is a community theatre based in the Adirondacks that focuses on reviving the golden era of radio. The theater’s setting is their fictitious radio station\, WADK. Utilizing vintage-style props\, such as cue cards\, the actors engage the audience as they regale them with stories of famous and infamous characters\, all with connections to the Adirondacks.
