Crafters Supplies Give and Take

Back by popular demand! Please check the events calendar for this year’s dates.  All proceeds from the event will be used to support programs, like the new sensory room for the Clifton Park-Halfmoon Public Library.

Donations and Shopping

This is a wonderful opportunity to recycle and donate extra supplies which will be loved by the next owner.

What items do you accept?

We accept any and ALMOST all types of craft supplies, examples include fabric, yarn, hooks, needles, craft paint, etc (please review THE LIST OF ITEMS WE CANNOT ACCEPT). The requirement is that they need to be in clean and usable condition. If you’re not sure if your crafting supply item is accepted, email inquiries and photos to folcrafterssuppliesgandt@gmail.com.

Do I have to donate supplies to shop?

No. You do not have to donate supplies to shop.

How does “shopping” at this event work?

Browse through all the donated craft supplies, pick out your treasures, and make a monetary donation to the Friends of the Library. We accept both cash and check donations. This is a “free will” donation.

What is “free will” donation?

A “free will” donation is when you make a donation that you think is fair for the items that you are taking; WE ACCEPT CASH, CHECKS, AND VENMO.

Not Accepting

Unfortunately, we CANNOT ACCEPT the following:

. completed crafts
· home décor (signs, vases, lamps, tables, etc.)
· unfinished projects (unless they come with all the materials and directions to complete)
· appliances of any kind
· kitchen items (glassware, mugs, plates, cups, etc.)
· floral (artificial flowers/foliage)
· any yarn that is less than ½ skein
· drapery/upholstery trim
· fabric material that is less than ¼ yard
· items that are moldy or have an odor (smoke, pets, musty, etc.)
· items with obvious stains
· glass for stained glass
· sewing patterns
· office/school supplies (e.g., pens, notebooks, binders)
· party supplies (e.g., gift bags, wrapping paper, party decorations, banners)

Where can I donate things you cannot accept?

CAPTAIN’s Treasures and Salvation Army accepts craft items and appliances that are functional. They, and Habitat for Humanity accept furniture and kitchen items. The Buy Nothing Saratoga Facebook group is a place to post what you no longer need and make connection with people who do need it. Finally, some things can be recycled at the Transfer Station (recycling is free to everyone there), and if you have a pass to the station you can discard
things there are well.
