The Friends of the Library (the Friends) are pleased to announce our 2025 scholarship winners. There was strong competition this year with 38 bright students from the Library District submitting applications, but our winners are truly deserving. They are Brennan Boisvert and Casey Wachowiak.
Brennan Boisvert
Brennan lives in Ballston Lake, attends Shen and has won the Green Award for academic achievement, the White Award for dedication to a club/activity and received a Citation for Community Service from the City of Watervliet for the impact of his Eagle Scout project in the community. Brennan is active in Boy Scouts, is on the Shen rowing and robotics teams and has a part-time job as a retail associate at Marshall’s.
Kate (Casey) Wachowiak
Kate (Casey) lives in Halfmoon, attends Shen and is in the Math and Social Studies Honor Societies as well as the Drama and Music Clubs. Casey has been the Vice President, Secretary and Social Media Coordinator for CCC-CAPE, a nonprofit, student run organization supporting youth mental health and has a part-time job as a sales associate at Walgreens.
Brennan, Casey, their families and the Friends Board of Directors celebrated their achievements at a brief ceremony at the library. In addition to the scholarships, the Friends gifted a one-year membership to each of the families.
We extend our sincerest congratulations to Casey and Brennan and wish them and all scholarship applicants great success in their future endeavors.
