Anyone interested in gardening is invited to attend the annual Plant Give and Take event Saturday May 16, from 9:30 AM-12:30 PM this spring, under the Clifton Park – Halfmoon Public Library portico.

Whether you donate plants or not, this is an excellent way for budding or experienced gardeners, kids and adults, to start or expand a garden, indoors or outdoors, and to meet Master Gardeners. In exchange we ask that you make a free will donation to the Library.

If you choose to donate plants, the following are accepted:

  • Outdoor plants, bare root only (no garden soil) (click on the link below to learn how to prepare your “bare root” plants)
  • Indoor house plants (in potting soil)
  • Cuttings and/or seedlings started indoors in growing medium (not outdoor soil)
  • Seed packets, opened and unopened, and less than 3 years old

Help us get organized by dropping them off at the CPH Public Library Portico on Friday May 15, 2026 (from 11 AM to 4 PM). Bare Root Plant Donations will also be accepted on Saturday from 9:30 – 10:30 AM.
