The Clifton Park-Halfmoon Public Library is seeking qualified candidates to fill four open Board of Trustee positions. The key role of the Board of Trustees is to oversee and support the administration of the Library to ensure it is well managed in a manner consistent with the law, through policies that serve the public library service needs.
A trustee is an unpaid, elected official who is genuinely interested in public libraries, and understands their importance in the community. Trustees must be willing to devote both time and effort to carry out the duties of trustee. Candidates for election to the Library Board should understand and represent all segments of the community. The open positions include:
- Two trustees representing Clifton Park for five-year terms.
- One trustee representing Clifton Park for the four-year remainder of a term.
- One trustee from Halfmoon for the one-year remainder of a term.
For additional information, please review the 2026-Trustee-Packet.pdf or contact Library Director Alex Gutelius at agutelius@sals.edu
Anyone interested in running for a trustee position must return a nominating petition by August 12 at 5 pm.
