A group of 27 enjoyed a bus trip to the North Country on Saturday May 30. We began our exploration at the Adirondack Experience Museum in Blue Mountain Lake. Our second stop was at the North Creek Rail Depot Museum where we learned about the history of railroads in the Adirondacks and focused on the wild ride of Theodore Roosevelt when he needed to travel to Buffalo to be inaugurated president of the United States after the assassination of William McKinley. Our final stop was in the hamlet of North Creek where we had the opportunity to view the community mosaic project which lines Main Street. The FOL sponsors periodic day trips to places on interest. Keep an eye out for the next announcement!
