Kids Read Too! events are geared towards our younger readers. This event is recommended for children in grades 3-5 who are accompanied by a parent. Join photographer Eileen Pickett Kivlin for a nature walk where kids can test their observation skills as they see how she looks for and records local animals and plants.
Reid Kisselback, WNYT - Channel 13 meteorologist, joins us to speak about weather and hurricanes. If you've already read West with Giraffes, you'll know that the story begins with two giraffes who survived the Great Hurricane of 1938 while crossing the Atlantic Ocean.

West With Giraffes, our 2025 community selection, is set in the early 1930's, during the Great Depression. Soup kitchens were an important source of food for many Americans. Join Chef Abby Shea for a soup making demonstration and tasting.
